LESOTHO DEFENCE FORCE BID FAREWELL TO THEIR COUNTERPARTS

Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) bid farewell to 19 Military officers undergoing Joint Command and Staff Course at Zimbabwe Joint Command Staff College at the end of their tour in Lesotho. The event was held at Avani Lesotho on the 08 August 2025.

Chief Human Resource and Admin Major General (Maj Gen) ‘Matumelo Ramoqopo expressed appreciation for the collaboration between the two Defence Forces. Maj Gen Ramoqopo emphasized that the visit was not just an academic, courtesy call or staff college visit but a testament to the enduring bonds of brotherhood, solidarity and mutual respect that exists between the two Defence Forces.

“Joined Command and Staff Course is a rigorous and prestigious Military Programme. We hope your stay in Lesotho added an important layer of information. I wish you a safe travels, continued academic success and lasting bond with your brothers and sisters in the  Lesotho Defence Force”, stated Maj Gen Ramaqopo

The Commandant Lesotho Defence Force Military Training Institute Brigadier  (Brig) Motenalapi Mohololi, commenced his speech by introducing the individual LDF officers who are the alumnae of Zimbabwe Staff College. Brig Mohololi explained that the Officers toured important sites in Lesotho over two weeks of stay in Lesotho. He said they explored the Lesotho Highlands Projects,  mountainous landscapes and learned about the culture of Basotho.

The Deputy Commandant of Zimbabwe Staff College, Group Captain Paridzirai Madzindu, the head of delegation, expressed appreciation for the hospitality received from the LDF.

 "We really cherish the bilateral relations existing between our countries. Thank you all who made the study tour a success. We are going back home imparted with knowledge and inspired by what we saw”, said Group Capt Madzindu emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations and the commitment to continued collaboration between the two Defence Forces.
